Product Review: Carmex Lip Balm
Name of the Product
Classic Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm
Age Group it’s for
Not specified but I’d say not for babies or toddlers. Great for teenagers through to adults.
What does the product do?
Carmex comes in a little pot or a squeeze applicator tube and you put it on your lips. You can also get it in different flavours and roll up tubes. It moisturises and protects the lips from chaffing, wind-burn and drying out. It also relieves the sensation of having dry and uncomfortable lips.
Does it do what it should?
Yes, it does. Carmex is one of those products which work and it always has. It hasn’t changed in all the years it’s been around. I was really happy to review this product because I’m already familiar with it and buy it anyway. The little pot is a handy size for my bag and I like the fact that I can always find it even when it’s rattling around in the bottom of my bag because it’s distinctive. There is the unexpected tingle which is iconic to Carmex from the camphor and menthol they use and I really like this. I know some people find that it takes a bit to get used to but I think this is what sets Carmex apart from its competitors. And it stays on the lips.
Would you recommend it and why?
This is just one of those health and beauty products everyone should have. It’s not expensive and a pot lasts for months. I tend to use it alot more in winter especially when the winds are around and my lips chaff more. I also love the fact that it’s made by the same family since the 1930’s, I like that touch. I really get that if something works don’t mess with it and Carmex knows this and that’s why it’s such a successful product. Apparently 130 of them are sold every minute worldwide so I’m not the only one who thinks it’s good. Amongst my friends there’s a bit of friendly competition about who prefers the pot and who likes the tube. You just need to be careful that your hands are pretty clean before you use it and I wouldn’t share mine but I do know some people do. It’s like sharing a lipstick, you just wouldn’t. And you can put it on as much as you like or just when you remember.
